QUICK ANSWER
A UV claim answers only one exposure question. Also check thermal conditions, water exposure, support, mechanical protection and the requirements of every connection point.
01Describe the roof as it will operate
A roof route can pass under modules, along metalwork, across joints and into equipment. Describe those segments individually. A cable acceptable on a supported route may need additional protection where it can rub against an edge or be disturbed during maintenance.
Record likely heat build-up and bundling, not just the weather-station air temperature. The design should connect the installation assumptions to the manufacturer’s cable data rather than treating every outdoor route as the same.
02Water resistance is a specific requirement
Occasional rain, persistent pooling and immersion are different exposures. Request evidence for the actual condition. Likewise, an outdoor or photovoltaic designation alone is not permission for direct burial; confirm the intended use separately.
03Give maintenance a place in the plan
Include support arrangements, accessible identification and the location of joints in the route plan. For an enquiry, a few annotated roof photographs and a cable schedule often resolve more uncertainty than a longer list of generic marketing properties.
Before you send an enquiry
- Route segments, rooftop conditions and support
- Heat, bundling and current-rating assumptions
- Evidence for water exposure and any burial requirement
- Connector placement and maintenance access
