QUICK ANSWER

A certificate image is a starting point, not complete verification. Check its status with the issuer and match its scope to the proposed product.

01Match the identity and scope

Compare the certificate holder, manufacturing location, standard, product family and covered sizes with the quotation. A valid document for one product does not automatically cover every product from the same factory. Use the issuer’s directory where available.

02Separate management and product claims

ISO management-system certification is different from product approval, and ISO itself does not issue certificates. For product markings such as UL-related claims, verify the appropriate listing or record and marking requirements rather than relying on a logo in a brochure.

03Read the report context

For a test report, confirm the issuing laboratory, sample identity, tested construction, test references and results. A historic type test is not the same document as the routine test record for your delivery lot. Ask the issuer to resolve uncertainty before approving procurement.
