QUICK ANSWER

Specify a compatible connection system with documented instructions. Do not select a lug solely from the nominal cross-section printed on its barrel.

01Identify the conductor precisely

Send the accessory supplier the conductor material, class, shape, cross-section and relevant dimensions. A compacted, sector-shaped or differently stranded conductor can require a different accessory selection. Keep the cable and accessory datasheets in the same approval file.

02Confirm the equipment interface

Review terminal approval for conductor material, contact arrangement and available space. Where dissimilar metals meet, obtain the manufacturer’s specified interface solution. Do not assume that every copper terminal can accept an aluminium conductor directly.

03Leave installation values to the system instructions

Require the specified tooling, preparation method and tightening or crimping instructions to accompany delivery. This buyer checklist intentionally gives no universal torque or die number: those values belong to the exact tested connection system and qualified installation procedure.

Before you send an enquiry
